Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to use CampGazer?

No — you can search campgrounds and browse listings without one. Signing in with Google, Microsoft, or Facebook lets you save a camping setup profile, plan trips, and suggest improvements to listings. We never ask you to create a password.

How does the RV compatibility calculation work?

We compare your saved camping setup profile — setup length plus hookup needs like 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer — against each campground's listed maximum length and amenities, and warn you about mismatches. Physical conditions such as tight roads and tree clearance vary, so always confirm with the campground before arriving.

How do I search for campgrounds in a specific area?

Type a city, state, or campground name into the search bar and pick a suggestion, or pan and zoom the map directly. You can narrow results with filters such as place type and hookup availability.

What do the connectivity indicators mean?

Listings can include reported Verizon and AT&T speeds and a Starlink suitability note, so remote workers know what to expect. Actual signal varies by site, weather, and tree cover — treat these as a guide rather than a guarantee.

Where does campground information come from?

Listings are compiled from public sources, automated processing, and contributions from the CampGazer community, then reviewed before publishing. Details like prices and seasonal openings can change, so double-check critical facts with the campground.

I found incorrect information on a listing. How do I fix it?

Open the campground's page and click 'Suggest edit'. You can propose changes to the description, contact details, price, RV limits, and amenities. Every suggestion is reviewed by our team before it appears on the listing.

Can I add a campground that's missing?

Yes — signed-in members can propose a new campground from the Search page, including its name, location, contact details, and amenities. Proposals go through moderation before they're published, and you can have up to five pending at a time.

How do shared trips work?

Build a trip with dates, stops, and notes, then share it with family or friends. Shared trips show up on their calendar under 'Shared with Me', where members can RSVP and take on tasks from the trip's checklist.

Can I book a campsite through CampGazer?

No — CampGazer helps you find and evaluate campgrounds, but reservations are made with the campground itself. Each listing shows the official website and phone number where available.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Email hello@campgazer.com and we'll remove your account and personal data. Community contributions that were already published may remain part of listings, as described in our Privacy Policy.
